LIBBY GABORCHIK TALKS ABOUT SUCH A PRINCE
|
So hello there, darlings!
I've been expecting you.
If you've already read Such a Prince,
then you know that I am
Libby Gaborchik, the very famous
fairy in the story.
But please, no autographs!
I don't do it for the fame.
If you've done some snooping around
(and there's nothing wrong with being
curious, by the way), then you may
also know that Such a Prince is based
on an very old folk tale often called The
Three Peaches. It is a story told all over
the world.
But did you know that in some of the
stories, it isn’t a peach that saves the
princess?
Did you know that in some of the
stories, yours truly, Libby Gaborchik, is
not a fairy but a witch or an old man?
Did you know that in some of the
stories the hero has to fill a sack full of
truth or find a ring at the bottom of the
sea?
So many variations!
So many ways to tell the same story!
Why do you think that is?
What, you don’t believe me? See for yourself.
Click on the buttons and read. Or maybe your teacher can print the stories out.

So, did you read them already? Libby wasn’t lying,
was she?
And tell me, darlings, what parts of those stories
were the same as Such a Prince and what parts were
different?
And did you notice something else that was
different? Something in Such a Prince that none of
the other stories do?
Well, who tells the story in Such a Prince? Click on
the answer you think is right.
Look at the time!
Darlings, I would love to chat some more but Libby is
a busy fairy. It seems that Tinkerbell is sick with the
flu and I promised to fill in for her. Oy, what do I know
from pirates and crocodiles? Maybe I'll bring some
danish. Why not? Everyone likes a danish.
